McMenamins Cornelius Pass Roadhouse in Hillsboro is a venue that perfectly balances historical charm with the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Between the towering trees of the Meadow and the weathered, rustic character of the Octagonal Barn, it provides a setting that feels both nostalgic and timeless. On this warm August afternoon, the grounds were alive with the spirit of summer, offering a lush and shaded sanctuary for the bride and groom to say their vows.
The ceremony design in the Meadow was a beautiful tribute to the surrounding landscape. The aisle was lined with delicate floral arrangements featuring soft blushes and ivory that complemented the vibrant greenery of the woods. A standout moment was the wine unity ceremony, where the couple merged two separate bottles of wine into a single decanter to signify their new life together. We also loved the personal touch of having their dog, Griz, serve as the ring bearer, complete with his own pet attendant. The setting was peaceful and intimate, allowing the natural sounds of the grove to enhance the couple’s heartfelt promises.
As evening fell, the celebration shifted to the Octagonal Barn for a reception full of high energy and rustic elegance. The interior was transformed with warm lighting and personal details, including a custom cutout of Griz behind the DJ booth. The design featured navy linens and gold accents that popped against the dark wood of the barn, creating a sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere. Guests enjoyed a family style buffet before the energy reached a peak with a lively grand entrance and a series of signature dances. The night was a perfect mix of sentimental moments, like a special bouquet handoff to the mother of the bride, and high octane fun on the dance floor.
The couple worked with YPB through our Signature Package. This allowed our team to manage the logistical heavy lifting, from the hour and a half room flip to coordinating the movement of floral decor throughout the property. We oversaw the guest transitions between the Meadow and the Barn, managed the cake service, and prepared the fiber optic whips for a glowing special exit. Our coordination ensured that every transition felt seamless, letting the bride and groom stay fully immersed in the joy of their celebration.
This wedding was a perfect reflection of the couple’s playful and romantic spirit. It was a day filled with laughter, unique traditions, and the beautiful, rustic scenery that only a venue like Cornelius Pass Roadhouse can provide.
