Kristin and Todd tied the knot in a cozy, intimate ceremony at Blockhouse & Pomarius Nursery in November. Since the light fades fast, their ceremony was in the night, but their beautiful installation by Amarie Flora with hanging candles gave the perfect ambiance. Come reception, the dark details on the table in the candle light was a beautiful, moody design. All in all, this was a picture-perfect fall wedding. July | Summer wedding at Castaway featuring fun lighting, pops of copper, a minimalistic modern design and a churro truck! | Photos By Mia Luttrell | We've seen a lot of weddings a t Castaway , bu t the two things we loved about Diane and Grant's wedding was the churro truck (yes please!) and their use of fun lighting throughout the venue! Their copper color palette was stunning in the summer, and we loved how they used just pops of the color throughout their venue, like their sweetheart table and the napkins on guests' tables. September || Hannah and Samun stood under a romantic draping installation for ceremony and utilized the outdoor covered patio at Castaway for reception on this warm, fall day. | Photo By Kate Ames | Hannah and Samun hosted their September wedding at Castaway in NW Portland. We LOVED their modern, soft yet moody wedding design. For ceremony, Color Theory  installed a greenery cloud with white draping that perfectly softened the late summer sun. For reception, they added on the Castaway patio for a covered but open air reception. We loved their tablescape, which was covered in a soft slate and adorned with airy white flowers, black tapered candles and smoke glassware. October | The changing leaves of the Pomarius Nursery plants and the warm terracotta and rust details were a match made in heaven for this fall wedding. | Photo By Kay Gilgan | We will always love PNW weddings in the fall! Lisa and Robert got married on a misty fall evening in Portland, which made for an incredibly romantic wedding with the nursery's changing colors. This wedding is the perfect inspiration for a PNW bohemian wedding, with the dried florals, pampas grass, ferns and warm, seasonal color palette. We loved how the nursery looked in the early night of fall, with one long family style table and ambient candles lighting the way. May | From the hanging ceremony floral installation to the small details of the place settings, this event was a timeless display of elegance. | Photo By Bekah Taylor | Luxury was the theme of this incredible wedding that we helped Sabrena and Pouya plan and design. May in Oregon can be tricky with rain, but luckily for Sabrena and Pouya, Castaway was a safe and warm choice for a venue, and their photographer Bekah Taylor   and their florist Blum Floral Design  created the most beautiful backdrop in a local studio when the forecast showed rain during their pre-ceremony photos. Just goes to show that even if plans change, they always work out if you have a team of experts taking care of you! From the hanging ceremony floral installation to the small details of the place settings, this event was a timeless display of elegance. We loved how the black and white color scheme looked against the magical backdrop of the hanging reception lighting and disco balls. And when it came time for the party... you know it was a fun one! September | A moodier take on a garden wedding, with bold table linens and soft floral details. | Photos By Taneesha Lucas | Roya and Charlie chose the Oregon Golf Club for the undeniably beautiful garden, and the ease that the OGC provides on wedding day - they cover everything from catering, to bar, to rentals, to getting ready rooms, to sourcing and providing sparklers for your grand exit (one of our favorite unique amenities!). Like all real weddings, Roya and Charlie had a specific vision and budget in mind, and their version of this design was unique to them - we loved the way it turned out! We used what they had, repurposing the arrangements from ceremony to their sweetheart table, bringing in the colors to their dessert spread, and only upgraded a few items to bring in their ideal design. Rose Garden Ceremony at Oregon Golf Club The garden has an existing rose & greenery arch, which we only enhanced with detachable arrangement for a more dramatic look. They also enhanced the walkway with a few aisle arrangements for a light-coverage growing aisle. Indoor reception at the Oregon Golf Club Their design was inspired by old world castle gardens, and Roya's favorite color purple. While the bridesmaid dresses were a lighter shade of violet, we used a darker plum for the guest table linens to bring in a more moody feel for this September wedding. We also helped them source gold flatware to better match the venue's included gold chiavari chairs. The team at Geranium Lake  created gorgeous, airy arrangements with lavender and dusty blue to compliment the darker linens, and added greenery to the chandeliers. One of the statement pieces we loved was their sweetheart couch on the dancefloor, where they cuddled up to listen to heartfelt speeches. June | Hannah and Eddie played into the existing greenery at Castaway with a whimsical greenery arch and wild & organic loose greenery runners - no eucalyptus to be found! | Photos By The Ashers ] | One of the things we love about Castaway as a wedding venue is that there are dozens of potted plants that you can use anywhere to add pops of green and soften up the industrial space. Hannah and Eddie really leaned into the existing greenery and covered the venue in whimsical and wild vines. Most of the time when you search "wedding greenery", you'll see eucalyptus. But no eucalyptus was found at this wedding - instead they used other leafy that made the design a bit more organic. It made the space feel so warm and inviting! We know you probably have a Pinterest board full of floral inspiration, but take it from us - you don't always need flowers for a beautiful wedding! July | Mismatched chairs, farm tables and a laid-back Hawaiian dinner at the rooftop venue Ironlight. Photos by Hazel Eye Photography Ironlight has both indoor and outdoor spaces that include two separate rooftop terraces with views of Mt. Hood. Modern, classy, and full of natural light. This is perfect spot to wow your guests and make picture perfect memories on your wedding day. Lindsay and Chase actually switched their venue to Ironlight a few weeks before, due to extreme temperatures and wildfire smoke in July, but it ended up being the perfect spot for them. Their guests got to enjoy the view for ceremony, but retreat inside to the air-conditioned space for cocktail hour and reception.
