Nestled high on Mount Hood, Timberline Lodge provided a breathtaking backdrop for this Chinese and Western fusion wedding. The ceremony in Raven’s Nest was a welcoming blend of diverse backgrounds, combining traditional Chinese rituals with Western vows and readings. During the tea ceremony, the couple served tea to their parents and grandparents, honoring family and lineage through heartfelt gestures of gratitude and respect. Thoughtful red details and the Double Happiness motif were woven throughout the space, symbolizing joy, prosperity, and unity, while subtle floral and gold accents layered seamlessly against Timberline’s natural textures.
Later, lion dancers from White Lotus Lion Dances energized the reception in Ullman Hall with rhythmic drums and vibrant movement, an exciting tradition meant to bring good fortune and usher in celebration. The lively choreography and colorful costumes set a joyful tone, filling the room with festive energy. The design incorporated alpine textures, eco-friendly red florals by Something Borrowed Blooms, and gold accents, complemented by subtle nods to the couple’s careers in software and video game design, and love of art with live "bad portraits", by Karlee Patton— creating a celebration that felt both meaningful and uniquely personal.
With the Premiere Package, which includes both coordination and hands-on design support, we were there every step of the way. We helped plan the tea ceremony and lion dance, mapped out how every detail would flow in the space, and offered guidance to balance traditional Chinese elements with Western vows and personal touches. The couple could focus on enjoying their day, confident that every moment was thoughtfully handled and that their traditions and personal story were fully supported.
This wedding was a vibrant reflection of love, blending cultural tradition, personal creativity, and intentional design. It was a celebration that honored family, celebrated individuality, and showcased how weddings can be crafted to reflect exactly who you are as a couple — a truly unforgettable beginning to their next chapter!
