Barn Kestrel is a stunning example of how the Pacific Northwest can feel both grand and incredibly welcoming. Located in the lush farmland of Oregon, this venue features a beautiful historic farmhouse and a weathered barn that provide a refined backdrop for a countryside celebration. On this warm August afternoon, the sprawling lawn was shaded by old growth trees, creating a cool and dappled light for a ceremony that felt tucked away from the rest of the world.
One of our favorite things about Barn Kestrel is the way the ceremony site under the great oak tree frames the couple perfectly against the horizon. Guests were treated to a lighthearted start to the proceedings with a "beer boy" leading the way before the bride made her entrance. Following the vows, the celebration moved seamlessly into a tented reception. The layout of the property allows for a natural flow where guests can wander between the open air cocktail hour and the cozy, rustic interior of the barn for the late night festivities.
The design for the day was a sophisticated take on classic summer styling. The palette centered on a deep navy blue, which provided a striking contrast against white linens and lush greenery garlands. Long wooden farm tables were adorned with navy runners, flickering floating candles, and delicate sprigs of baby's breath to create an atmosphere that was both elegant and approachable. We loved the personal touches that made the night unique, from the espresso martini service to the vibrant dessert table filled with cookies and cupcakes. These details, combined with the bridesmaids' coordinated yet varied blue gowns, made the entire day feel cohesive and full of personality.
The couple worked with YPB through our Signature Package. This allowed our team to handle the heavy lifting of the logistics, including the transition of ceremony chairs to the reception tent and the relocation of floral arrangements from the arbor to the head table. Our goal was to manage the behind the scenes movements so the couple could stay present for every toast and private moment.
This wedding was a beautiful reflection of the love and community surrounding the couple. It was joyful, polished, and incredibly fun. Barn Kestrel continues to be a favorite location for us because of its ability to offer a classic farm setting with a level of sophistication that is perfect for a modern PNW wedding.
