A Vibrant Celebration of Color and Culture at Castaway - Lindsay and Sagar

August | This August wedding at Castaway Portland was a joyful fusion of Hindu and Western traditions featuring a vibrant coral and peach color palette.

Castaway Portland is the kind of place that instantly feels special because of its versatility and industrial charm. Set in the heart of the city’s Pearl District, it offers an expansive, open architecture that makes it an unforgettable setting for a wedding. On this bright August day, the venue was at its best. The warm summer air and the lively energy of the surrounding neighborhood created the perfect backdrop for a celebration that was as much about the atmosphere as it was about the couple.


One of the things we love about Castaway is how seamlessly the day flows from an energetic outdoor arrival to a grand indoor reception. The experience began with a high-energy Baraat where the groom entered with a vibrant dance procession, setting a joyful tone before moving inside for the ceremony. The transition into the reception area was just as smooth. It is a venue that feels both beautiful and functional, allowing guests to move between the airy patio and the spacious event hall without ever losing the momentum of the party.


The couple’s design felt perfectly in tune with the venue’s clean lines. Their color palette of peach, coral, and dark green paired beautifully with gold and beige accents. The overall style leaned toward a welcoming, culturally rich immersion that felt both modern and timeless. Some of our favorite details included the stunning mandap repurposed for the DJ booth and the mini donut and cookie bar that kept everyone fueled for the dance floor. From the traditional Hindu ceremony and Ganesh Puja to the high-energy "Texas Hold 'Em" grand entrance in western attire, these thoughtful touches made the day feel personal, meaningful, and full of personality.


The couple worked with YPB through our Premiere Package. This provided dedicated design support and expert logistical management to ensure every moving part of this multi-ceremony day came together seamlessly. From coordinating the Baraat and the transition between cultural traditions to managing the vendor team, our support allowed the couple to stay present and enjoy every moment of their dual celebrations.


This wedding was a perfect reflection of the couple and the venue itself. Lively, welcoming, and beautifully diverse. Castaway Portland continues to be one of our favorite places to celebrate love in the Pacific Northwest because it truly allows couples to build a day that is entirely their own.
