A Soft Summer Romance at The Orchard - Katie and Spencer

The Orchard in Hood River has a way of feeling both grand and incredibly grounded. Nestled within the rolling hills of the Gorge, it offers a lush, organic backdrop that makes it a standout setting for a wedding. On this late August day, the venue was at its best. A soft, overcast sky provided a beautiful, even light that made the vibrant greens of the orchard and the delicate floral arrangements truly pop against the horizon, creating an atmosphere that felt intimate and peaceful.


One of the features we love about The Orchard is how the layout naturally guides guests through different experiences. The ceremony took place on the expansive lawn among the trees, where guests were welcomed with chilled champagne before a heartfelt service. After the vows, the transition to cocktail hour under the pergola felt relaxed and inviting, with lawn games like cornhole and a beautifully stationed charcuterie display. It is a venue that functions perfectly for a high-energy transition, such as the couple’s informal grand entrance to "Shots" by LMFAO, which immediately signaled that the party had begun.


The design for the day was a romantic nod to the late summer season. The color palette featured a soft mix of light pinks, peaches, purples, and dusty blue, all grounded by sage green accents. The florals were especially striking, utilizing a combination of single-color arrangements and multi-colored clusters. Some of the most thoughtful details included a "Love that Came Before Us" photo display and a late-night coffee cart that provided a cozy touch as the evening air cooled. These elements made the celebration feel deeply personal and full of joyful personality.


The couple worked with YPB through our Premiere Package. This allowed our team to provide dedicated design support and collaborative planning sessions throughout the entire process. By managing the complex logistics of the floral transitions, coordinating the guest shuttles, and overseeing the timeline through to the private last dance, we ensured every detail was executed flawlessly. This level of support meant the couple could stay fully present and enjoy every moment of their celebration with their loved ones.


This wedding was a beautiful reflection of the couple and the venue itself. It was lively, colorful, and warm. The Orchard continues to be a favorite place for us to celebrate love in the Pacific Northwest, offering a stunning and versatile canvas for couples to create a day that is as fun as it is beautiful.
