- The Venue Series: Washington Wedding Venues with A View
Photo by Erin Perkins Photography Welcome to The Venue Series! We love helping couples find the best fitting venue via our standalone Venue Hunt Consultation or Venue Hunt add-on for wedding planning packages. As PNW Planners, we've planned and designed in hundreds of Oregon and Washington venues, and we're sharing some of our favorites and why we love them. Your venue is the foundation of your wedding, and you deserve to find one that fits your needs, budget and vision. All photos featured are from weddings we've coordinated, planned, and/or designed. With a diverse landscape, Washington has plenty of views to offer. We've had the opportunity to work at many venues, but these 8 wedding venues with a view in Washington are some of our favorites. We're sharing why we love them, and a few insider tips we've learned along the way! North Fork Farm - Snoqualmie, WA Featuring a view of Mt. Si Photographers: Bear Beau Photography, (1-3) and Lloyd Photo and Film (4-6) Why we love them: North Fork Farm offers an incredible view of Mt. Si, so it's great for mountain lovers, and sits on 10 acres of property. It's quiet and serene for those looking to get away, but also offers a modern interior for extreme weather fiascos. There's also plenty of nearby hotels and accommodations near by that we always help connect couples to, making it a great spot for a PNW destination wedding. Insider Info: NFF includes tables and chairs, a prep kitchen, a few arbor options - all of which covers the bases! However, you'll want to make sure you have a coordinator to help manage the set up of any other rental items or decor. You'll also want to make sure your timeline accounts for the 9pm or 10pm noise ordinance, depending on the day. Kiana Lodge - Poulsbo, WA Featuring a waterside view of Bainbridge Island Photographers: Hannah Henden Photography (1-3) & Bear Beau Photography (4-7) Why we love them: One of our very own planners got married at this venue, so you know it's good! Kiana Lodge is right on the water, with an uninterrupted view overlooking Bainbridge Island. We love that the lodge has beautifully manicured outdoor areas, and a cozy, wooden interior with hanging plants that makes you feel like you're still in nature. The lodge also has amenities that shouldn't be overlooked, like staffing to direct parking, an included bonfire (dependent on fire restrictions), and folding chairs and round tables. Insider Tip(s): The venue provides wonderful in-house catering and bar, so no outside food or drink is allowed. If you plan to do an inside ceremony, make sure you have a crew (like us!) who can help you flip the space to reception. While the exterior is beautiful for ceremony, we don't recommend dining outside- the outdoorsy area is prone to crows. Treehouse Point - Issaquah, WA Featuring a view of the lush forest from the vantage point of treehouses Photographers: B. Sweet Imagery (1-3) & Nicole Gagne Photo (4-8) Why we love them: This venue is perfect for those looking for a unique experience in addition to a great venue! Treehouse Point is actually an AirBnB, so you can rent out all the treehouses for a full weekend experience! And if you do, we're happy to coordinate and plan your weekend with you. What we'll never get over is the treehouses themselves - they're amazing to stay in for your wedding night, for getting ready, or to treat your VIP guests to a unique experience. Insider tip: The venue provides an outdoor tent during the summer for dinner receptions! For those who don't love a tented reception, the lawn works great for an uncovered option given that weather cooperates. The Admiral’s House - Seattle, WA Featuring a view of the Seattle skyline and Mt. Rainier across the Puget Sound Photographers: Wiley Putnam (1-3) and Matthew Land (4-7) Why we love them: The Admiral's House is a historical landmark that offers stunning views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and downtown Seattle in total privacy. Not only that, but the interior has a sophisticated atmosphere that will make you feel like royalty. It's one of our favorite and most frequented luxury wedding venues. We love that the ceremony garden that has the intimate feel of a backyard wedding and beautiful blooming hydrangeas. The reception space is also spacious, lending plenty of room for a clear or white top tent to provide shade, protection, or opportunities for installations. Insider Tip: There is minimal parking onsite, so butler service and/or transportation is a must for this venue - good thing that service from our friends Butler Seattle is included for 8 hours! The venue also has an exclusive catering list, but we love all the caters listed and you won't be disappointed. Edylnn Farms - Graham, WA Featuring a view of Mt. Rainier Photographers: Erin Perkins (1-3) & Tasha Owens (4-6) Why we love them: Edlynn Farms is a wonderful and private venue. The spacious barn can accommodate up to 300 for lager weddings, even with a 20x20 dancefloor, and even includes round tables and folding chairs. And when the skies are clear, you get a stunning view of Mt. Rainier! It's a great setting for a traditionally rustic design with the wooden interior of the barn, but with the right vendors and design, you can totally transform the interior with it's high ceilings and raptors. Insider Tip: The venue is respectful to their neighbors, so be sure to notify your DJ to keep noise levels under 85 decibels to party without interruption. Crystal Mountain - Mt. Rainier National Forest Featuring an up-close view of Mt. Rainier from the mountain top Photographers: Erin Perkins Photography (1-3) & Claudia Noelle Photography (4-7) Why we love them: What's not to love about one of the tallest venues in Washington and and a venue that provides in-house catering?! This might be one of the best views of Mt. Rainier that you can get at a wedding venue, situated on the top of Crystal Mountain. It's great for mountain lovers (like Chelsea and Chris who really rolled with the PNW theme) who still want a formal inside space for reception with amenities and temperature control. Insider Tip: Guests and vendors have to catch a gondela ride up to the venue, which requires good communication and logistical coordination to ensure everyone gets up at the right time - but hiring a coordinator solves all of this for you! Plus, the venue offers discounted rates for Monday-Thursday weddings, and others for Friday and Sunday, depending on the package. The Golf Club at Newcastle - Newcastle, WA Featuring a panoramic view of the Puget Sound and surrounding skylines Photographers: Alex Lasota (1-3) & Mathew Land (4-7) Why we love them: The Golf Club at Newcastle is amazing for a few reasons, but most couples love it for its upscale feeling and private view overlooking the Puget Sound. The venue provides an attentive team to staff the day, in-house catering, and stunning getting ready rooms. Plus, if you're getting ready onsite, you can play a round of golf to fill in the morning hours of the wedding. You also have a variety of backdrops and locations to chose from. We've planned weddings where ceremony was on the ballroom patio (the best view) and reception inside St. Andrews Ballroom, and others where ceremony and reception took place in the tented and draped Prestwick Terrace - both are stunning! Insider Tip: The golf club, like most in-house options, have a food and beverage minimum and a standard automatic gratuity charge, so make sure to factor this into your budget from the get go. Woodmark Hotel - Kirkland, WA Featuring a lakeside view of Lake Washington from the East side. Photographers: B. Jones Photography (1-3) & Blue Rose Photography (4-6) Why we love them: Woodmark Hotel is an all-in-one wedding, and it's perfect for destination weddings since guests can stay onsite and enjoy all the festivities. The venue rental also includes more luxurious rentals, like white chiavari chairs, in house AV service, and a dance floor, as well as basic dinnerware, tables and other common amenities. We also love that the venue provides 4 hours of set up for luxury installs that take more time, and even a private boatride for the couple on the lake! There's no better way to spend a moment alone together after ceremony before the rest of the reception festivities begin. Insider Tip: For guests not staying at the hotel, your guests will need to pay a parking fee to park onsite longer than the 2 complementary hours. To avoid this, you can either cover the fees for your guests, or reserve a shuttle bus or two to transport your guests not staying onside. Also note that the venue's outside spaces also have a 9:00 pm noise ordinance, but for their inside spaces, you can party until 11:00 pm. Looking for help planning your wedding at one of these venues? Your Perfect Bridesmaid is a preferred planner and/or experienced at all the venues listed and we'd be happy to help bring your story into one of these venues. - Elegant, all-white garden wedding at Deepwood Estate - Meghan and Cameron
August | Deepwood Estates reminds us of a beautifully manicured English garden. We loved the all-white look in this space! | Photo By Sweetlife Photography | Meghan and Cameron's venue choice had deep sentimental value, as Meghan's roots were firmly planted in Salem. The picturesque setting was nothing short of romantic for their elegant, luxury wedding. They opted for a refined, white and ivory color palette, accentuated by hints of green and gold. The luxury came from lush white blooms by Swoon Floral Design that adorned every corner, and their elevated chairs and accents we brought into the garden space. While Meghan had a clear vision from the outset, we had the privilege of translating her dreams into reality and transforming the expansive 40x100ft tent. We helped lead the charge with our Deluxe Package to create a cohesive plan and organize every detail, but one of the main benefits of our full service wedding planning packages is the time it takes off our client's hands. Meghan was wrapping up her internship in preparation for law school, she only concluded weeks before the wedding, and Cameron was dealing with a serious injury from either snowboarding or skiing earlier in the winter. But despite undergoing surgeries and rigorous physical therapy, Cameron was determined to recover to be able to walk down the aisle on their special day. Miraculously, his recovery aligned perfectly with the wedding week, sparing any need for crutches or a wheelchair. It was a love story we'll never forget, and a wedding design that will be truly timeless. See The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery. - The Venues Series: Wedding Venues on the Oregon Coast
Welcome to The Venue Series! We love helping couples find the best fitting venue for their ideal budget via our standalone Venue Hunt Consultation or Venue Hunt add-on for wedding planning packages. As PNW Planners, we've planned and designed in hundreds of Oregon and Washington venues, and we're sharing some of our favorites and why we love them. All photos featured are from weddings we've coordinated, planned, and/or designed. The Oregon Coast is unlike any other beach - we are convinced! There’s nothing like the cool, misty air of Oregon beaches and getting to watch the mesmerizing waves crash in the background. You can always elope anywhere on the coast, but this blog is for those looking for Oregon Coast wedding venues to host a small to large wedding. There are limited options, depending on what kind of wedding you’re hoping to have, but we’re here to help you find the best one for you. If you’re also considering venues on the Washington coast, be sure to check out our list of Washington Coast & Island venues. Before you begin planning your Oregon coast wedding, there are a few things you should know. Public Beaches & Permits If you live in Oregon, you’re probably well aware that all of Oregon’s beaches are public. While we love that we can always enjoy the beach, it means that for weddings, your event isn’t going to be 100% private. We can assist by notifying people who are setting up close to your event, setting up signage, and monitoring the area, but there is only so much we can do in a public space. You will also need to obtain a special event permit for a gathering of over 50 people. This permit will allow you to bring in chairs, benches, arbors and other typical rentals, but you can always opt for a standing ceremony. Beach Weather We know and love Oregon for its temperate weather, but weather at the beach can be unpredictable. Often, it’s rainy AND windy. Be sure that your wedding has a good rain plan in the case that your open-air beach ceremony or outdoor ceremony gets rained out. Tents will not hold up to the coastal wind, even if you found a rental company that will allow it on the beach. However, we live for days like Grace and Taylor's wedding (right) where it's warm and blue skies. AirBnB’s One request we get often is to host a small wedding from a local AirBnB - yes, you can get married in a rental property! But, there are a few restrictions. For one, if you have your eyes on a property, you will need to check directly with the host or owner of the home - sometimes, you’ll need to book the house outside of the AirBnB to host an event there. But once you get approval, here are a few other considerations you’ll need to keep in mind: Guest Count: You’ll also need to make sure your guest count isn’t exceeding the property’s limit, so plan your guest list accordingly. AirBnB weddings on the coast are best for micro weddings and elopements. Noise Ordinance: assuming the property is in a residential area, you’ll need to adhere to local noise ordinances - the last thing we want is for the police to roll up to your wedding due to a noise complaint. Food: Keep in mind that there are some restrictions about how food can be served in a rental property. Typically, a caterer cannot cook or prep inside the residential kitchen of an AirBnB or rental property per the Oregon Food Sanitation Rules. That means you’ll need to make sure your ideal caterer has a community or other local kitchen for food preparation. There is some gray area around hiring a personal chef for a smaller group. Insurance: always always always opt for getting event insurance! Better yet, make sure your vendors are also insured in the case of any mishaps or damages. Nothing dampers a wedding like legal issues. The best thing you can do to ensure your Oregon Coast wedding goes smoothly is to hire a wedding planner or coordinator. As PNW wedding planners, we’ve planned and coordinated quite a few coastal weddings over the last few years and had our eyes on a few venues we’d love to be at. Below you’ll find the venues that we’ve been to and loved, and a few that are on our bucket list! And if you’re looking for vendors to build out your wedding team, read to the end to see our preferred list of vendors who are local to the Oregon Coast. Oregon Coast Wedding Venues Capella By The Sea Brookings, OR Photographer: Luke + Mallory Why We Love Them: Capella by the Sea is a one of a kind glass chapel nestled in the forest of the Southern Oregon coast. Believe us when we say that our jaw dropped when we first saw this place! This chapel was built in 2009, made with native wood and stone and built in memory of the builder’s late wife (the sweetest love story!). The view overlooks the coastal sky and is situated along Highway 101, just a drive away from various other lookouts and trails and roads down to the oceanfront. This chapel can accommodate up to 49 people, and comes equipped with built-in benches. It’s owned and operated by the City of Brookings, and can be rented by the hour. Insider Tip: If you’re in love with this ceremony space, you’ll need a great reception space to pair with it. Consider looking into renting the vacation rentals and event spaces at Crook Point in Brookings, OR. There are both large and intimate spaces to host your guests, and it’s an incredible space to spend the weekend on the southern coast. Cannon Beach Community Hall Cannon Beach, OR Photographer: Lindsay Blair Photography Why We Love Them: The Cannon Beach Community hall is the perfect place to celebrate your wedding on the Oregon Coast but in the safety of a covered and heated building. Most community halls are simple blank spaces, but we love how this one has some coastal charm. Its wooden interior and stone fireplace make the venue feel warm and cozy, and the exposed beam and rafters allow for added hanging greenery or draping for an elevated look. When we helped Michael and Maddie plan their wedding here, we helped them secure a beach permit for a ceremony on the beach at the Cannon Beach access point off Ecola Court, and set up their reception at Cannon Beach Community Hall. If it ended up raining, we were prepared to flip the space at the Hall for a fully indoor wedding! They even rented the space for an additional day to host their rehearsal dinner. The 34’ x 30 feet open space can house up to 130 guests, and we love that the venue rental grants you access to the space from 8:00am to 1:00 am - plenty of time for set up and all your festivities. The space is fairly minimal, but does include bathrooms and a prep kitchen for your catering team to set up shop, 86 folding chairs, over a dozen 6ft folding tables, and the option to add and use their projector and screen rental. And the best part? It’s super affordable, starting at $900 in the off season. Insider Tip: While the Community hall comes with some included inventory, you’ll need to rent a few additional items. We love using Cannon Beach Party Rentals to secure additional or alternative chairs, extra tables, linens and even decor. You’ll also want to make sure you have a good set up team or a coordination team to help set up, especially if you opt for a beach ceremony. Since the beach is public, you’ll want someone keeping an eye on the rentals or decor on the beach as well as someone to set up at the community hall. Our packages always include two planners on the day of, so we have you covered! Crook Point Brookings, OR Photographer: Luke + Mallory (1-4), Amy Fitch (5-6), & Katy Weaver Photography (7-10) This venue was also featured in our Oregon Destination Wedding Venue Blog! Why We Love Them: Believe us when we say there is some type of magic in this place, and you’ll know it the minute you step foot onsite. Crook Point is located down in the SW corner of Oregon and is one of the few and only places in Oregon that has a private stretch of the Oregon Coast and one of the only views of the iconic Arch Rock. It’s the perfect blend of a beach venue and a woodland forest venue, situated up on the coastal cliffs in gorgeous meadows surrounded by trees that overlook the oceans. Crook Point has been owned by the Crook family for hundreds of years - so long that it precedes the Oregon Public Beach Law, so it’s one of the few and only places that has a private section of the Oregon Coast. This venue is also a vacation rental, so you can book out all or some of the dreamy beach houses to stay the weekend, all of which have private access to the sandy beaches (we highly recommend booking the accommodations to get to enjoy all the magic of Brookings, Oregon!). This venue spreads across hundreds of acres, with multiple places to host your elopement or wedding with a view from the cliffs of the Oregon Coast. The Arch Rock Main Lawn is the space we love and know the best, and can host larger weddings if you are not planning an elopement. Your Perfect Bridesmaid was one of the first planners to work at Crook Point and we had the honor of helping to support this family and make an incredible experience for couples hosting their wedding onsite. This venue also recently opened a new indoor venue space, The Mervue Estate, that was only in the beginning stages of construction when we first started planning weddings here in 2019 for our dear friend Katy Weaver Photography. This venue continues to grow and improve, and we continue to love being there. Insider Tip: We have so much to share about this venue, being the planning team who has worked there the most! There is no contender for Crook Point, but you will need to plan for a few logistical complications. There aren’t too many options for accommodations in town, so you’ll want to reserve the vacation rentals ASAP or warn your guests that they may need to look out 30 minutes to the next town. The Arch Rock Main Lawn doesn’t have running water or a traditional prep kitchen, so you will need to plan to stock up on water and ice from the store and hire a catering team that can bring in the proper equipment and help manage these complications. You’ll either need to have your caterer build your kitchen, or look at local caterers and be sure to hire on service staff. We always work closely with catering teams and make sure all the boxes are checked so you have a seamless wedding. Being that we’ve been here so many times, we’ve tried a few creative options and are happy to share what worked best. Pelican Brewing Pacific City, Siletz Bay at Lincoln City and Cannon Beach, OR Photographers: Why We Love Them: Pelican Brewery is one of the few venues that has an ocean view from the comforts of inside, with beach access right out their back doors. Plus, it’s an easy one-stop-shop venue because all the catering and drinks are organized in house, and they have all the tables, chairs and place settings needed to serve your guests! For stocking your bar, you can also bring in your own alcohol and just pay the corkage fee. The venue rental is broken down into the room rental fee, a beach rental fee, rental fees for chairs set up on the beach, and per person food packages. Pelican Brewing has three locations that host weddings: Pacific City, Siletz Bay in Lincoln City (new!) and Cannon Beach (for small events only) Insider Tip: Pelican Brewery rents their space for weddings year round, but you’ll find higher room rental fees in early and late summer months, and very limited availability and much higher rental minimums for July and August, since this is the busiest time of the year for beach visitors. Pelican Brewing in Pacific City The space at Pacific City can host between 40 and 80 guests. The reception space offers stunning views of Cape Kiwanda and Haystack Rock, and is situated right next to romantic inns to stay the weekend. Alante and Jake’s wedding (featured in Oregon Wedding Day!) started at the nearby Headlands Coastal Lodge and Spa, where they got ready together and read private vows to each other, and then moved to Pelican Brewing just up the road for a beach ceremony and indoor reception. Photographer: Kilen Murphy Pelican Brewing at Siletz Bay in Lincoln City The newest location is such a dream! We had the opportunity to plan and design a styled shoot to show off the Seaview Room, desired for larger events. This location has 5 different private spaces to rent, depending on your guest size, but the Seaview room was made for events. We love the outdoor balcony that overlooks the bay! Photographer: KMT Photo The Ruins at The Astor Astoria, OR Photographer: Marcela Pulido Why We Love Them: If you’re looking for a unique coastal venue not too far from Portland, this is it! The Ruins at The Astor is located in Astoria, OR - the most charming beach town on the northern tip of Oregon. This historic space is one of a kind space. It was originally Hotel Astoria, built in 1921 to be the tallest building in Astoria. Today, the original lobby of the hotel is what we know and love as The Ruins. This space feels like a hidden gem, with so many original details intact but weathered in a romantic kind of way. We’re obsessed with the original tiled floors! We love that this space lets you choose all your vendors, and that a venue rental on the weekend grants you access for the entire weekend. That means there is no rush to get in or out of your venue, and you have time to set up and grand designs in the beautifully lofted space. Insider Tip: One thing to keep in mind is that since this space was not originally designed to be a venue, there aren’t many options for storage or back of house areas, meaning that most of the space is visible during the event. However, we can work with you to secure a strategic caterer and the necessary rentals and staffing to have a food truck or drop-off catering at your wedding, or just work with your full-service caterer to build a strategic layout. Surfsand Resort Cannon Beach, OR Photographer: Sweetlife Photography Why We Love Them: Surfsand Resort is the perfect venue for you if you want a luxurious and convenient beach wedding experience where you can stay the weekend onsite in oceanfront suites. Dinner at Surfsand is catered by the neighboring Wayfarer Restaurant with classic and elevated seafood menu items - because if you’re doing a beach wedding, you might as well have fresh caught fish served! There are options for a plated dinner, buffet dinner, cocktail hour dinner and even a brunch buffet! Surfsand has two spaces you can rent for your wedding reception, ranging from 50 to 250 guests. The Haystack Gardens is located just across the street from Surfsand Resort and can host 50 guests inside and 250 out on the private garden and lawn (which can be tented!) for an outdoor reception. The Oceanview Ballroom can host 160 seated, and offers a fully indoor experience with an uninterrupted view of the ocean and Haystack rock. For your ceremony, you can opt for the popular beach ceremony, which Surfsand will set up for you We helped coordinate Grace and Taylors wedding at Surfsand Resort, with a beach ceremony and reception in the Haystack Garden’s lawn under a tent. This space can only be rented June through September, and is a great way to enjoy the misty air throughout your entire wedding. Insider Tip: We love one-stop-shop venues, but for venues that include catering, you’ll need to make sure you budget for the food and drink minimum, as well as the 5% Cannon Beach Food tax and standard gratuity percentage of the food and drink total. Other perks of this venue are that a wedding venue rental also comes with a guaranteed room block! It can be difficult to find accommodation in the popular summer months, so this is a huge plus, especially if you have a handful of out of town guests. The prices are based on the normal nightly rate, but you are not held responsible for any rooms that are not booked - they will just be released back to the public after a specific date in your rental agreement. More Venues! There are so many other great venues that we haven't had the chance to work at yet, so we've listed a few more that we have our eyes on. Hydrangea Ranch Tillamook, OR Photographer: Jennifer Lourie This is a hidden gem that we would love to connect a couple with! The Hydrangea Ranch is in Tillamook, Oregon, nestled in the Oregon Coastal Ranch. While this is not a beach front property, it’s an incredibly picturesque venue spanning over acres of fields and gardens, just close to the coast. There is both an enclosed barn and an open air pavilion to host your reception, and endless options for ceremony. This venue has so much potential! We can hardly believe how much is included for the price it’s at. It’s pet friendly, includes a kitchen prep space with an ice machine, cooler, food warmers and more (unheard of for many outdoor venues, and a venue rental gets you the space for the WHOLE WEEKEND. If you are an outdoors Bay Point Landing Coos Bay, OR Photographer: Jennifer Lourie Bay Point Landing is a dreamy, modern coastal getaway venue. We’re a sucker for a beautifully designed space that speaks for itself, and the Scandinavian-inspired space is exactly that. This venue is just steps away from the bay, and the lofted event space has panoramic floor to ceiling windows and skylights to take in the view and sunlight. The biggest perk we think is the beautiful teakwood furniture that’s included with the rental. We’ll take wooden furniture over plastic folding chairs and tables any day! It comes with large tables and benches that seat up to 72 guests, as well as a few sets of lounge furniture. The fireplace is usable, and you can even open the garage doors to let in that misty sea breeze. Not only that, but Bay Point Landing also offers modern cabins, airstream suites and RV campsites for a beach glamping experience. If you love this space, let us know because we’d LOVE to help you plan your wedding here! Want to know that you've found the best venue? - The Venue Series: Historic Wedding Venues In Washington & Seattle
Many couples come to us wanting a specific venue look and feel. One common request we get is for a venue that has a bit of charm, elegance, and timeless allure - in other words, a historic wedding venue. We love historic venues because they are rich with stories, and usually have timeless features that you just don’t get with newer wedding venues or even venues that were designed to be venues. At Your Perfect Bridesmaid, we’ve had the privilege of orchestrating countless celebrations at historic wedding venues in Washington and Seattle From stately mansions exuding old-world glamour, to regal buildings that offer a sophisticated atmosphere, Washington's historic wedding venues cater to a diverse array of tastes and preferences. As part of our Venue Series, we’re sharing some of Washington's most captivating historic wedding venues and why we love them. All the venues featured are ones we’ve been to and loved, and the photos featured are all from weddings we’ve planned and coordinated. The Admiral’s House Photographers: Matthew Land Studios (1-5), Marcella Laine (6-9) & Wiley Putnam (10-14) Why we love them: The Admiral's House is a historical landmark that offers stunning views of the Puget Sound, Mt. Rainier and downtown Seattle in total privacy. It was originally built in 1944 and has since been a residence to over 30 U.S. Naval Admirals and their families, making it a meaningful spot for anyone with a partner or family in the Navy. This place screams sophistication, with a charming and bright interior and a peaceful, well landscaped exterior.. It's one of our favorite and most frequented luxury wedding venues in Seattle! We love the ceremony garden that has the intimate feel of a backyard wedding and beautiful blooming hydrangeas. Both the garden and the space outside of the Admiral’s house can be tented for a covered reception! If you are getting married on a hot day, however, be aware that a clear tent will leave you with beautiful views but will feel similar to a greenhouse (warm and humid). The Corson Building Photographer: Sophie Lin Berard Why We Love Them: If you’re looking for an alluring space with historical charm and elevated dinner experience in Seattle, The Corson Building is perfect. Day to day, it’s a spot for fine-dining in Eastlake, featuring an ever changing menu served in plated courses for a different experience each time you visit. For events, it’s a private and intimate spot for your wedding of up to 80 guests outside and 20-30 guests inside, with the same elevated dining experience. It’s perfect for those who have food as a high priority on their list. This venue was originally constructed as a home in 1926, so it features homey details like a fireplace in the middle of the indoor space, a whimsical patio featuring draping ivy and beautiful stone pavers, and cozy nooks. The owners have really made this a magical and comfortable space, maintaining the charm of the home. Insider Tip: Since this venue is smaller, you will need to plan for additional rentals beyond 30 people, which is typically how many people the restaurant can serve at a time. We like to work with CORT to deliver and set up rentals here. This venue also requires a full buyout of the restaurant if you are wanting to utilize more than their upstairs private dining room, and includes food and beverage minimums that vary depending on the day and time of your event. That also means that this space is wonderful for welcome events and rehearsal dinners on off days. Lairmont Manor Photographers: Alder and Pine Photography (1-5) & Kestrel Bailey Photography (6-11) Why We Love Them: Just north of Seattle in Bellingham lies the enchanting Lairmont Manor, just inland from Bellingham Bay With its chateau-style architecture inspired by Italian Renaissance and picturesque surroundings, this venue is made for a romantic fairytale wedding. Lairmont Manor is rich with history, dating back to the 1940’s (we highly recommend reading through the venue’s history!) This venue is incredibly well landscaped, with clean but native gardens, romantic corners to tuck away in, tree coverage and a well designed layout. The interior is also frozen in time, with ornate wooden details, charming paned windows, antique chandeliers. We love this venue for quite a few reasons. For one, the venue offers much appreciated flexibility, with a full day rental (10am - 10pm) so your day won’t feel rushed and the option to choose the vendors of your liking (with some requirements). This venue also offers a Grand Marquee tent for an outdoor reception, and includes chairs, tables and place settings, tent heaters and onsite parking! Insider Tip: This venue is secluded in a neighborhood, so it’s surrounded by residential homes. For your event, that means there is no amplified music or dancing music outside. The venue does provide a speaker and microphone to use to amplify your ceremony and allow amplified music inside for dancing. We always recommend hiring a string duo, trio or quartet to match the atmosphere for ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. However, keep in mind that any music must end by 9:00 pm and by 10:00pm inside. If you’re looking to party past that, we recommend hosting an after party! Laurel Creek Manor Photographer: Brooks and Pine Why We Love Them: Laurel Creek Manor offers a historical space that many of our outdoorsy couples love. It’s got that vintage charm with a romantic, centerpiece stone fountain and hedge walls, but with modern touches. This venue’s origin dates back to 1917, and has always been family owned and loved. The couple that owns this space is always working to improve the space for people to enjoy. They have built a patio, added a playground, created a larger parking lot, upgraded the getting ready rooms - it just keeps getting better and better! We love how the space is laid out - it’s large enough to have each part of your wedding spread out into different, beautifully landscaped spaces and wander around the grounds if you want to tuck away. The ceremony lawn features a paved walkway (great for heels!) and a traditional, permanent white arbor. The reception is typically held under the permanent white tent with a romantic draped ceiling, and dancing and cocktail hour can be on the open air patio. Insider Tip: To have an event here, you’ll need to budget for one of their full service caterers (we often recommend Act 3 and Snuffins, two of our preferred caterers). However, this just ensures that no detail is left to chance for your wedding. The rest is up to you, but we recommend asking for their preferred vendor list - you’ll see Your Perfect Bridesmaid on there! While a venue rental gets you access from 10am to 10pm, you can easily add on extra hours so you have plenty of time to get ready inside the beautiful house. It makes for great for getting ready photos since there aren’t a ton of higher-end accommodations in the area, and it will allow you extra time to relax without having to travel. Plus, you get access to their full kitchen to cook and prepare breakfast. If you are looking to stay off site and in the area, we definitely recommend looking into AirBnB’s for the best experience. Orting Manor Photographer: Megan Young Photography Why We Love Them: Just southeast of Tacoma lies Orting, Washington, the home of the historic Orting Manor. This venue is made for a classic, sophisticated wedding, with clean green lawns and hedges and a Victorian style home built in 1901. Since then, it’s been renovated with events and guest comfortability in mind. This venue feels like a luxurious backyard wedding venue, featuring a pool (yes, you can use this!) , renovated gazebo, and well-manicured lawns. The manor is also rentable, and can be added to your venue rental package to stay onsite the night before or after your wedding for up to 16 people and enjoy the space for even longer! This venue can accommodate up to 150 people and amenities that are nicer than your average. We love that the venue rental includes wooden farm tables and a tent that has full-ceiling drapery, string lights and chandeliers for an elevated look. The venue comes with a ton of options for table and chairs, but if you’re needing or wanting more than that, you can add-on their rental package extensive decor inventory. Insider Tip: You also have the option to select your vendors, however they do require at least a day-of coordinator (like our Signature or Premiere Package) and a full service caterer. One note to consider is that there is no parking onsite, but the venue is located next to a large park with lots of parking options. Otherwise, you get so much out of the venue rental fee! The outdoor space is also only available during the months from April through October, but can accommodate 30 guests in their indoor space. If you’re looking to tour their space, make sure to put their Spring 2024 Open House on your calendar! The Press Room Photographer: Rachel Joy Why We Love Them: We love a venue with a great story! The Press Room in Tacoma was originally home to the printing presses for the Tacoma Daily Ledger and Tacoma News Tribune from 1941 to 1971. It has a more industrial, rustic eclectic feel to the space than other historic venues, located in the urban Opera Alley in Tacoma. If you don’t live in the Tacoma area, you may still consider this venue because of how close it is to the Sea-Tac airport - it’s just as easy for out of town guests to fly in and get to as it would be for a Seattle venue. We love spaces that have unique touches, and at The Press Room, every couple gets to put a new key with their names and date on their key wall, so you’re forever part of the venue’s story. They also have a ginormous chalk wall that you can customize - just ask us for our favorite lettering artists! We think this space looks stunning paired with jewel-toned colors and eclectic decor! The Press Room features weathered wood, high ceilings, and a permanent bar made of repurposed metal from the former cargo elevator doors. It can accommodate up to 125 guests seated, with tables, chairs and linens included for that guest count. All food and beverage is offered through their exclusive caterer, Jonz Catering, who can also help you secure any additional rentals needed. Insider Tip: Since this venue is in downtown Tacoma, there is no designated parking for your guests - just street parking. For larger weddings, we always recommend budgeting for a shuttle bus to get guests to and from the venue. However, being in a central spot is also a plus. This venue is right next to one of the best tiki bars in Tacoma, so you can hop right over after your wedding, or have a celebratory drink the night before. While we love that this venue has included inventory, some couples find that they want alternative chairs or linens. If that’s the case, we’re happy to connect you to our favorite local rental companies and help you design a tablescape that fits your style and budget. We offer rental coordination and design in all of our planning packages. Rainier Club Photographer: Why We Love Them: We truly believe that The Rainier Club is a hidden gem of the venue that all couples interested in a historic venue should see. This venue makes for a grand, ornate setting that is perfect for maximalists, traditionalists and those seeking an elevated and sophisticated experience. The historic brick mansion built originally in 1904 sits nestled in between city skyscrapers in Downtown Seattle, so you get the charm of a historic venue but as central as you can get. There have been a handful of events and milestones that have taken place inside this clubhouse. Inside is the most elegant space you’ve ever seen. For events, there are 13 event spaces to choose from that can accommodate from 12 to 250 guests. Each room, hallway, and corner is detailed and decorated from floor to ceiling, featuring granite floors in some spaces, ornate, lofted ceiling designs in others, grand fireplaces (you can use this for your event, and even roast s'mores in it!) modern traditional chandeliers and sconces, and so many other details that create a traditional, elegant look. Even their included inventory adds to the traditional elegance, with Riedel stemware sterling, Bauscher china and silver flatware. Plus, their getting ready room, or “bridal room”, makes you feel like you’re royalty Insider Tip: This venue will require a club member to sponsor your event and a food and beverage minimum of $15,000, so it’s better suited for medium to larger guest counts. However, you can ensure that you’re getting an elevated dining experience and included tasting if you’re interested in booking your event here. You can rent this space for your ceremony, venue or both options, but each is priced out separately depending on the room you select. Want to know that you've found the best venue? - The Venue Series: "Garden Party" Wedding Venues near Portland
If you’re loving the “Garden Party” wedding trend, you’re going to love these wedding venues near Portland, Oregon. As wedding planners who have scoured every corner for the best venues, believe us when we say Portland doesn't disappoint when it comes to charming garden spaces. Whether you're envisioning a cozy garden nook or a sprawling estate, this city has something for every couple looking to tie the knot surrounded by natural beauty. These garden wedding venues host a variety of guest sizes and fit a variety of budgets, but if you’re wondering which venue is best fitting for you - reach out to us and we’d love to help you start your Venue Hunt! Abernethy Center Photographers: Dao Jones Media (1-4) & Everlasting Images (4-7) Why We Love Them: Abernethy Center lies just outside of Portland in Oregon City and offers two different garden spaces for your ceremony, and an indoor and outdoor tented reception space. The Veiled Garden (paired with the indoor ballroom) and Abigail’s Garden (paired with an outdoor tent) both have classic gazebos and a lush, greenery garden for your ceremony backdrop. The Veiled Garden offers more of a forested backdrop, and Abigail’s Garden has a romantic willow tree looming over the gazebo. This venue is for those who love a clean, well maintained space. This venue is also great if you are looking for a place with included amenities. They not only have your basics (tables and chairs), in house catering and included place settings and glassware, but they also have a few bonuses like a wooden dance floor, heaters, fans and misters, getting ready rooms, and cafe lighting in their reception spaces. One reason our couples love this space is because the food and beverage minimum is much lower than other venues with in house catering - starting around $5,500 and calculated based on your guest count and dinner style. You’ll find that some hotels that have food and beverage minimums run around $8000 - $12,000 regardless of guest count. Insider Tip: Abigail’s Garden comes with a shorter venue rental timeframe, so you will want a wedding coordinator to help you maximize your time here or consider adding on extra hours to your standard 7 hours for set up to clean up. However, events at Abigail’s Garden have to end by 10:30pm, with your last song being before 10:00 pm since the space is outside. The Veiled Garden / Ballroom has a longer 12 hour venue rental, with the event ending as late as 12:00 am. When searching through the venue’s pricing and packaging, you’ll find that the venue also offers an add on for wedding coordination. When comparing options that are best for you, we recommend comparing their add-ons with our Signature Package or our Premiere Package, which is the most common choice for our Abernethy couples! Leach Botanical Garden Photographers: Dionne Kraus Photography (1-4), Katy Weaver Photography (5-8) Why We Love Them: Leach Botanical Garden is a charming, intimate garden space for guest counts of 80 or less. We love it here! If you love the idea of a “secret garden” space, this is the spot. . This garden space spans over 17 acres, with a free flowing creek, a stunning tree deck, a historic manor house, and the cutest stone terrace for your ceremony and reception. The space feels intimate with leafy tree coverage looming above you and natural looking gardens in stone walls surrounding you. This space is truly beautiful on it’s own! While this venue requires a room flip from ceremony to reception, you can direct your guests to the front of the Manor House for mingling. Live music is always fun in this area to entertain guests while we flip the space with your catering team! We love that there are little nooks to tuck away areas like your dance floor, photo booth, lounge or dessert table. The manor house is also a great place to finish getting ready, tuck away before the ceremony, and stage your buffet or bar so you don’t have to worry about needing tent coverage. To visit the space, you can walk the garden or attend one of their events or guided strolls any day of the week Insider Tip: The garden is open to the public up until 4pm, which will overlap with your venue rental only slightly. We’ve seen some people passing on the nearby public paths during setup, but your event space is blocked off and the garden closes before your event kicks off officially. You’ll also need to plan on a 9:00pm music end time, so if you want to party longer, you’ll want to arrange for an afterparty. You will want to make sure you have a solid rain plan, as the indoor Fireplace Room can only accommodate 40 people inside. But no worries, our friends at Arden Event Collective have the exact measurements for a tent if needed, and we’re happy to extend our preferred vendor discount when you work with us! Fir Acres Estate Gardens at Lewis and Clark College Photographer: Jane and Co Photography Why We Love Them: If you haven’t been to Lewis and Clark college, it’s a must to walk around! It’s just 6 miles outside of downtown Portland but tucked away in the forest. The campus is full of beautiful photo spots throughout the wooded area, but the most iconic spot is the Fir Acres Estate Gardens - and it makes for a great wedding venue. This venue feels like you’re stepping back in time, with weathered stone steps, charming stone steps, and an impressive and historic brick manor house with a preserved interior. In addition to the Estate Gardens, there are other rentable spaces for rehearsals, indoor ceremonies and receptions, and getting ready spaces. We planned and designed a beautiful Sperry tent wedding here, a classic and timeless affair. Natalie and Corey really wanted to prioritize a beautiful venue, and there was no other contender! Insider Tip: The college requires vendors to sign a services agreement that outlines specific restrictions and responsibilities, so a professional vendor team is a must to have a seamless experience. More specifically, the college requires you to hire a full-service wedding planner with specific qualifications, but our comprehensive Coordination and Design package as well as our full service Deluxe and Ultimate packages cover all the necessary requirements and then some. While this venue is stunning, you’ll need to plan to rent most of your amenities from a rental company. We're happy to help you budget for this added expense and guide you to the best options and share our preferred vendor discounts. Oregon Golf Club Photographer: Leah Beachy Photo & Design Why We Love Them: The Oregon Golf Club is one of those venues where we know the wedding is ALWAYS going to be smooth - it’s such a joy to be at that we offer a special package discount when you hire our team as your planner or coordinator! OGC is best known for its elegant Rose Garden ceremony and sophisticated atmosphere - we also know them for their incredible team we love working alongside! This inclusive golf club is tucked away in the hills (a beautiful drive) and offers all the amenities you need, (Chiavari chairs, a polished dance floor, linens, place settings, built in bar, etc) some of which are better than the average options you see at other venues. You only have to bring in your decor and flowers to add your own twist to the space. It can host up to 400 events This venue is perfect if you want an outdoor ceremony but an indoor reception, don’t want to compromise on the beauty of either space. The long ceremony lawn features a lush, greenery arch that blooms with roses with a symmetrical backdrop and clean hedges for a polished look. Guests enter into the ceremony space, and then filter into the fully enclosed Rose Pavilion with high ceilings, elegant draping, floor to ceiling windows, and (one of the best features) a temperature controlled environment. We also adore the spacious getting ready spaces, with a private balcony that overlooks Mt. Hood and allows you to peek at your guests arriving while you’re tucked away before the ceremony. Insider Tip: The well respected country club has a dress code that applies to guests and vendors on your wedding day and during setup, which you’ll need to communicate to your guests and vendors. Many of the photos you see will feature a sparkler exit - the venue fully facilitates this and even provides the sparklers for you and your guests! The Historic Overlook House Photographers: Caleb Gaskins (1-5) & Alyson Levy Photography (6-8) Why We Love Them: Nestled in the heart of Portland lies the hidden gem of wedding venues: The Overlook House. This historic house offers an intimate space in a modest and quaint garden space that can host your ceremony and reception or serves as a great reception or ceremony only space. It’s one of those venues that feels like you’re getting married in the comfort of your backyard, and we love it for laid-back, garden party weddings. One of its standout features is the full access provided to the house and all its inventory, including basic place settings and serving materials, with only a cleaning fee required. The inventory includes white folding chairs, round tables, and catering space essentials, simplifying the planning process for couples. In other words, if the atmosphere and feeling of the space is the most important, this venue is easy to say yes to. The historic house offers ample getting-ready space, complete with rooms, bathrooms, and a kitchen, ensuring convenience on the big day. It also makes for a great "introverts' corner,'' adorned with comfortable couches and chairs. The space is small and usually requires a flip from ceremony to reception, or a seated ceremony, but the venue does boast a beautiful welcome porch that’s elevated and can serve as a stage, perfect for memorable moments like your first dance. Insider Tip: While the venue has included inventory, be warned that the items offered don’t come in large quantities (some plates and other place setting items cap out at 70 or 80) of each style so it might be a mix-and-match scenario if you’re wanting to use all in-house rentals. This venue is also nestled in the neighborhood, so there isn’t a designated venue parking lot. Guests will park along the neighborhood, but there’s ample street parking and the quiet neighborhood is a pleasant walk so it hasn’t caused any issues for the weddings we’ve worked there! The Victorian Belle Photographers: Auburn Photography (1-4) & Carrie Fey Photography (5-8) Why We Love Them: If you’re looking for a venue with charm, the Victorian Belle is it! Like the name suggests, this onsite historic house is frozen in the Victorian era, with ornate architectures, intricate details and woodworking in every corner, and opulent furniture from the bygone era. Surrounding the house is a quaint garden space, with multiple backdrops to choose from. Many of our couples opt for the house itself as the ceremony backdrop, because, well… there’s just nothing quite like it! We’ve also had couples hold their ceremonies in the spacious, protected gazebo on rainy days. The garden has two wide lawn spaces for your reception, one of which fits a tent for your inclement weather plan. The venue graciously offers 12 hour venue rentals (these are the best!), which means you can get ready entirely in the vintage interior. The 3-story house makes it so both you and your partner can get ready onsite without running into each other. Insider Tip: This venue is an all-in-one option with in-house inventory and catering to make it easy for you, but what we love most is that the inventory matches the charm of the venue. They offer vintage cake stands and tea trays, etched glass or crystal plates, ornate chargers, tea cups and saucers, lace overlays and a variety of decor that’s all included. Odds are, if you love the space, you’ll love the inventory as well. Want to know that you've found the best venue? - Jewel-toned, vibrant wedding at Jupiter NEXT - Kathleen + Mujaba
September 2021 | Photo By Lindsay Blair | Kathleen and Mujaba were joined by their friends and family to celebrate their love in a transformative and vibrant way. The two wanted to show off a bold and colorful design at The Jupiter NEXT and soften the industrial space with white, hanging draping. It took a talented team to be able to flip their bold ceremony set up to their reception space in under an hour, but we had a stellar team to help us to it. - Multicultural Wedding Wedding Wedding at Skamania Lodge - Taryn and Sagar
May | Skamania Lodge | Photo By The Ashers | Taryn and Sagar joined their families together for a multi-day, multi-cultural wedding celebration at Skamania Lodge with incredible food, multiple celebrations, and dancing all night long. Their wedding weekend kicked off with a traditional Sangeet with DJ Prashant hosting the party! We love having DJ Prashant for multi-cultural weddings - he not only keeps the party going and the energy high, but he also gets on the dance floor to teach everyone traditional dances so everyone can join in on the fun. The next day, T+S's families celebrated on the iconic pavillion at Skamania with a traditional (and timeless) Western wedding ceremony, infused with Hindu traditions. This is the perfect example of two couples blending together in a unique way. It's not easy to do by yourself - we helped with full service planning to ensure all the details for the whole weekend were aligned. - Three subtle ways to incorporate your favorite sports team into your wedding
A blog for all the soon-to-be-married sports fanatics! Your passion for your favorite sports team is a big part of who you are, and maybe it is a big part of your relationship - or, let's be real, maybe your love for a team is actually a hot button conflict if your favorite teams are rivals. No matter - adding small references or details of your favorite team to your wedding can make your day unique to you! Your wedding is your day, so why not add in your favorite things? From jerseys to bobbleheads, here are three ways to incorporate sports teams into a wedding that we've seen our couples do. 1. Socks! Photo by Pretty Geeky Sport your team on your socks, or even consider gifting socks to your wedding party with their favorite team's logo to wear during the ceremony. The socks show off their individuality and are a fun small detail to look for in the photos. 2. Create Custom Bobbleheads or Figurines Photo by Sarah Anne Looking for a fun table topper? A Bride and Groom bobblehead wearing a baseball hat of your favorite team is a for-sure stand out! The bobblehead is a fun, small detail that you can subtly slide into your table decor or add on top of your cake. It will also make for a great wedding memento. 3. Take Photos in Your Jerseys Photo by Anais Possamai When it is time to take the couple portraits, consider slipping on a custom jersey for a few shots! For a more special approach, consider customizing the jerseys with your newly matching last names. You may not root for the same team, but at least you can sport your shared names! We love the "I married into this" shirt that Brian surprised Julie with. You may chose you who love, but sometimes that come with consequences like having to supporting your rival team.
- Indoor Wedding Venues In Downtown Seattle
Welcome to The Venue Series! We love helping couples find the best fitting venue for their ideal budget via our standalone Venue Hunt Consultation or Venue Hunt add-on for wedding planning packages. As PNW Planners, we've planned and designed in hundreds of Oregon and Washington venues, and we're sharing some of our favorites and why we love them. All photos featured are from weddings we've coordinated, planned, and/or designed. We know and love Washington for the 'outdoorsy wonderland' vibe it has, but we will always love the ease and charm of indoor venues in and around Downtown Seattle. The heart of Seattle offers diverse spaces for wedding venues: sleek lofts, historic ballrooms, industrial interiors, upscale hotels, rooftop views, and more. In this blog, we're sharing some of our most frequented indoor wedding venues in downtown Seattle and why we love them as Washington wedding planners. These are all venues we’ve been to and loved, so we’re sharing our favorite parts and a few insider tips to know before you book. The 101 Photographer: Jenn Tai Photography Why We Love Them: The 101 is a beautiful blank-slate venue that gets plenty of natural lighting, with windows lining two sides of the interior. The space is bright and airy for stunning photos, and right in Pioneer Square, so it’s walkable to and from so many iconic Seattle streets and convenient hotels. We love that you can really transform this space to fit your needs. You can use the venue’s draping or bring in additional pipe to divide the space and you can work with your florist to install dramatic, hanging pieces off of the existing poles throughout the interior. Insider Tip: This venue is in a fantastic area, which can be a little trick for parking. You can ease the stress and potential late arrivals by communicating parking information with your guests and making sure to communicate your desired arrival time to the venue. The Lumen field parking is just a block or two down the road, as are other parking garages. The Edgewater Hotel Photographer: Bear Beau Photography Why We Love Them: Perched along the scenic Seattle Waterfront, The Edgewater Hotel offers an easy, seamless and luxury wedding experience and incredible view. Ceremony and reception both typically take place indoors, but with floor to ceiling windows and an elegant interior. Plus, the venue has an outdoor patio that overlooks the city skyline, which is best utilized for a cocktail hour. What we love most about this venue is that you can spend most of your budget on the venue / hotel and all its inclusions and not need much else other than a planner, florist and DJ. The Edgewater provides incredible in-house catering and easy-to-choose-from rental packages to make the decision making easy. The hotel partners with CORT Party Rentals (one of our preferred rental companies) and offers three different packages of rentals to choose from to create your wedding look. You can rent outside of those packages, but you’ll need a planner to help you coordinate and craft your order. Not only that, but a venue rental also includes a courtesy block of 9 rooms that your friends and family can book. Insider Tip: This venue does require a planner, and we’re happy to be one of your considerations and share our experience there as a planner. You’ll need to budget for the catering minimums, venue rental fees, and planner at the least, and we’re happy to help you figure out the rest. One thing we like to remind our Edgewater couples is that if you are wanting to secure rooms beyond the 9 rooms included in your venue rental, you’ll need to secure a contracted room block, meaning that hotel rooms blocked must be paid for in advance. Fremont Foundry Photographer: Clancey Why We Love Them: The Fremont Foundry is a modern, industrial indoor space with four stories of spaces, with the highlights being the artistic reception space with 20 ft tall ceilings and a gorgeous rooftop space that can be used as a photo spot, ceremony space, or cocktail hour space. If you’re looking to tour this venue, their website has a snazzy virtual tour and various floor plans to really understand how the space is laid out. This venue is part of Landmark events, a collection of venues, which means your wedding will be catered by the fabulous Herban Feast. While we love a “blank slate” venue, we love that this indoor space is a little different with art installations and unique features to add a little spice. The high ceilings are also a huge plus, because you can bring in hanging greenery, like our clients Jessica and Salvatore did, or twinkly lights. Insider Tip: The four stories of spaces are fun to spread out your wedding events, but note that only the first and second floors are ADA accessible and have access to an elevator. The third and fourth floors are accessible only by stairs, which will be important to run by your vendor team so they can account for that into their delivery and set up plans. We have been fortunate enough to be at this venue in both summer and winter time for two beautiful weddings (and more in the future!). Summer can feel very hot inside the building, as the venue doesn’t have AC, so make sure to plan accordingly! We suggest purchasing fans to give out as favors and sharing a note with guests so they can dress accordingly. Imperia Lake Union Photographer: Tonie Christine Why We Love Them: This one is for the couples looking for a one-stop-shop and upscale venue! Imperia Lake Union located in Eastlake right off of Lake Union. It’s great for those who love a maximalist, art-deco look, and is so fitting for a “Great Gatsby”-inspired event. The space boasts elegant chandeliers, ornate details throughout the building, and stunning copper ceilings. If this has peaked your interest so far, there’s really no other contender in the Washington area. It was formerly the historic Lake Union Cafe, built in 1927, so it has a bit of vintage charm and round booths to use as guest tables or mingling areas. One of our couples used these booths as tables, and only needed a few additional tables to seat all their guests. There’s even a little speakeasy downstairs that makes for the perfect getting ready room, marriage license signing spot, or photo moment. This venue not only includes food and beverage, but they also offer floral and decor in house! Their floral services include options for custom arrangements and orders, as well as a few pre-selected packages if you want easy options to pick from. The venue packages also provide options for brunch, evening or all day rentals, so you can host your ceremony offsite, or host your entire wedding here and have the incredible staff help flip the space between ceremony and reception. Insider Tip: The one caution we’ll leave about this venue is about parking. The venue has only a small lot, so the vast majority of your guests will need to secure street parking off of the popular Eastlake Avenue. Spots here can be limited to 2 hours during the daytime hours, so be sure to leave a note on your wedding website and encourage guests to rideshare in, carpool, and/or arrive early enough to account for parking and walking. Olympic Rooftop Pavilion Photographers: Tori Osteraa (1-4) & Amanda Amphlett (5-8) Why We Love Them: The Olympic Rooftop Pavilion should definitely be on your list if you’re looking for rooftop wedding venues! The private event space in Ballard lives on the top floor of Hotel Ballard and is offered through the restaurant, Stoneburner Seattle. In other words, the venue and catering are wrapped into one agreement, but you have the easy option of booking rooms downstairs through Hotel Ballard. Plus, the venue rental space is at an amazing price compared to other venue/catering agreements we’ve seen. This elegant space with crystal chandeliers and south and west facing window walls has mostly everything you need, including built-in speakers and microphones, candles, place settings, tables, chairs, standard linens. This event space is suited for 150 guests or less, and is perfect for those who want to prioritize good food, views, a comfortable experience and a convenient location. What we love most is that you get all the city views and the best natural lighting from the safety and coziness of the indoors, BUT there’s a bonus. The south and west facing windows can fully open to allow for an open air venue! The window walls and the 22 ft skylight also mean you get gorgeous natural lighting. In the summertime, we also coordinated a romantic and intimate morning brunch wedding with the windows open. We also coordinated a gorgeous dusk to night time winter ceremony with a ceremony to reception flip - the candles and the city skyline at night only added to the experience. It’s an elegant space for any season! Insider Tip: We recommend sticking to the venues’ recommended capacity of 130 guests for a seated dinner, and even less if you can swing it to have a little more wiggle room. At capacity, the space will feel pretty tight in between tables and chairs. You’ll also need to plan for a flip from ceremony to reception, which means you may need to have your florist stay onsite for the flip and/or have a team of planners to move all your decor, since there is limited storage space. Keep in mind that the venue is attached to a hotel, so there are limitations on the sound levels of your music and restrictions on music outside. Live music is subject to approval and will have sound limitations, but you can always hire a DJ or DIY your music and use the venue’s in-house speakers - just remember to work with your planner and designate someone as your MC to keep the event flowing and on track. SoDo Park Photographer: Jamie Buckley Photography Why We Love Them: SoDo Park gets its name from being in the heart of the SoDo district. This venue is owned by the venue collective, Landmark Events, which means you’ll work with their exclusive caterer, Herban Feast. The teal exterior is hard to miss, and the interior space is quite unique, featuring industrial, wooden walls and exposed beams, incredibly tall ceilings, historic features from its past as a manufacturing facility, and so much space. There are a few things that we think make this venue stand out from other downtown Seattle wedding venues. For one, it’s huge! It has a spacious interior fit for large guest counts up to 300 for a seated reception, which most other venues don’t come close to hosting. The venue also has the largest wedding party getting ready rooms up in the loft that we’ve ever seen. Not only that, but it also has a parking lot that can accommodate most or all of your guests so they don’t have to battle with street parking. Depending on your desired layout, it may require a room flip. However, the venue includes a designated space to store tables, they offer full pipe and drape to hide the movement of the flip, and plenty of space for your guests to mingle during cocktail hour while the flip takes place to make it more seamless. Insider Tip: While we love the full room draping and bistro lighting you see in most photos, it’s not an included cost in the venue rental and they are both added on as a venue enhancement. However, it’s convenient to have those add-ons through the venue and not need an additional vendor. Within Sodo Photographers: Jordan Voth Photography (1-5) & IJ Photo (6-9) Why We Love Them: Within Sodo is yet another venue to have on your list for a rooftop venue! This venue allows you to pick all your vendors, including catering, as long as they are insured companies, and has enough space to host over 300 guests. It also includes a full catering kitchen, multiple bathrooms, built-in bars, and access to The interior space is modern and industrial with artistic lighting installations, wooden ceilings, brick walls and exposed dreams for a very urban look. But if 100% indoor isn’t your jam, Within Sodo has a beautiful rooftop with wooden flooring and a covered area for your ceremony, cocktail hour or dancing. We love this space for a moodier, ambient reception. The space doesn't get much natural lighting, but it looks stunning with added ambiance from candles and warm uplighting. Insider Tip: Venue is beautiful, but you’ll need to make sure one of your vendors (caterer, planner or other event staff) can set up all your tables and chairs. Typically a full service caterer will help with this aspect, but if you’re going an alternative route, that service will need to come from elsewhere. This is where a planner comes in handy - we can help guide you on the set up! You’ll also need to secure tables and chairs, as well as any other decor needs from a rental company. If you go through the local company Pedersen’s Event Rentals , you can finagle a next-day rental pick up to save you some money on late-night delivery fees. However, if you go with another rental company, you’ll need to make sure the rentals are dropped off and picked up within your rental timeframe. A planner also comes in handy with this aspect to make sure everything is in order! Want to know that you've found the best venue? - Moody, Modern Boho Wedding at Coopers Hall - Paige and Sean
May | A Bohemian Dream with full floral designs and a rustic wine barrel backdrop in the heart of Portland Photos by Ellie Asher Photography In the midst of Covid, we still made Paige and Sean's bohemian dream a reality. Paige's dress was everything and we wanted a space that would let it shine. Enter: Coopers Hall, an indoor urban venue and dining space. Brier and Ivy's full and luscious floral design beautifully filled the spaces in Cooper's Hall. We loved the climbing floral display on the wine barrels behind the sweetheart table, the hanging greenery that made the space feel more intimate, and color palette mixed with moody and neutral colors. Neutral can often be delicate, but we think the added darkness through the maroon candle sticks and black place cards makes this display all the more interesting. - New Years Eve wedding at Castaway - Emilie and Nirant
December | Elegant meets festive - an epic green, gold and white New Years Eve wedding celebration. | Photos By Taylor & Madye | Castaway is one of the best venues in Portland to host a large wedding, and it was perfect for hosting Emilie and Nirant's extravagant New Years Eve wedding! The high ceilings allowed for an epic balloon drop net, which released at the end of the countdown, and the large layout allowed a separated ceremony, reception and dance floor space. Everything was white, green, black and gold for a festive but elegant look, with golden balloons for the drop and other focal point areas. Behind every beautiful wedding is a talented team of people - see The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery. - Elegant red & pink wedding at The Admiral's House - Alyssa and Cody
July 2022 | This wedding was awarded "Best Wedding" and featured on Washington Wedding Day! | Photo By Matthew Land Studios | It was a gorgeous Seattle day for Alyssa and Cody's luxe wedding at The Admiral's House. No detail was left to chance - Alyssa spend months envisioning her and Cody's wedding, sourcing and styling each area and curating a talented team of vendors to handle all the moving parts of their setup and design, Your Perfect Bridesmaid among one of them. When it comes to luxury weddings, it's all in the little details. The reds and pinks, brought in through airy arrangements and custom tile place cards, created a romantic but bold statement against the white Chiavari chairs and white linens. The hanging installations, if you look closely, featured pops of florals for a beautiful installation and ambient glow over the black and white dance floor. The sweetest details were those that paid homage to her late mother, who was would have been so proud to see it all come together.
