Ornate and Moody Wedding at The Ruins - Jonelle and Jackson

September | This wedding at The Ruins leaned in to the rich architectural details, using a combination of modern and organic decor to create a unique, dramatic look.

Jonelle and Jackson’s wedding at The Ruins is such a good example of letting a venue do what it does best! The space is already dramatic—ornate walls, old-world details, incredible murals—so instead of trying to soften it, they leaned in.

The palette was deep navy, mossy green, black, and candlelight, which gave the whole evening that moody, slightly unexpected feel. The DIY florals were lush and organic, with moss and greenery woven through the tables, chandeliers, and beautifully framing key focal points. Paired with rentals from CORT Party Rental and lots of taper candles, it felt completely and utterly elegant.

Ashley Page Photography captured the day beautifully, especially all those little details that made the space feel so atmospheric. With DJ Ace Chico keeping the party going and Make It Moment bringing the photo booth, there was plenty happening once dinner was over. And let's talk about Mochinut for dessert! A towering, decadent display of scrumptious mochi donuts were completely unexpected! Who says you need traditional dessert?!

Jonelle and Jackson planned with our Signature Package, which meant they had support throughout the planning process from vendor curation and planning guidance to a dedicated team handling the logistics on the wedding day. The end result was ornate, romantic, a little edgy, and very much them—exactly what a great wedding at The Ruins should feel like!
