Traditional Vows and Fairytale Forest Dreams at The Empress Estate - Monica and Ori

August | This August wedding featured a traditional ceremony at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church followed by a whimsical reception at Empress Estate. Our Signature planning package supported the couple through a multi-venue transition and the execution of a unique reception design featuring glowing cherry blossom trees and an infinity table.

The journey from a historic Portland landmark to a grand estate in Woodland made for an unforgettable August day. With the summer sun shining bright, the couple began their celebration at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. The traditional ceremony was breathtaking, set against the backdrop of the church’s ornate gold iconography and magnificent vaulted ceilings. As the bride and groom exchanged vows, the sacred atmosphere and vibrant red aisle created a sense of timeless elegance that truly honored their heritage.


After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the Empress Estate, where the vibe shifted into a whimsical, high energy party. The bride looked radiant in a sparkling gown while the groom opted for a sophisticated dark suit, and their bright spirits set the tone for the entire afternoon.


One of the most remarkable parts of the day was the reception decor, which turned the ballroom into a glowing indoor forest. We were obsessed with the table setups, especially the circular "infinity" table that wrapped around a large tree glowing with white fairy light blossoms. This served as a stunning focal point, surrounded by more glowing trees that framed the stone fireplace. The tables were finished with elegant white linens, woven chargers, and gold rimmed glassware, while soft floral arrangements in blues and peaches added a delicate touch of color to the room.


The reception was a non stop celebration of love and laughter. From the moment the live musicians and DJ kicked off the evening, the dance floor was packed. The energy reached its peak during the traditional chair dance, with the couple hoisted high above a cheering crowd of family and friends. It was so clear throughout the night that they wanted to make this day just as special for their guests as it was for them.


Through our Signature Package, we were able to handle the logistics of coordinating across two different states and venues. By managing the vendor transitions and the detailed setup at the estate, we ensured the couple could focus entirely on the fun.


Seeing two such bright spirits celebrate their union in such a grand yet personal way was a highlight of our summer season.
