September | A chic, vintage-leaning wedding reception at Castaway Portland brought together textured florals, vibrant cultural traditions, and the venue’s industrial warmth for a celebration that felt both elevated and full of personality.

Castaway Portland is one of those venues that already feels full of character the moment you walk in. With its industrial brick walls, high ceilings, and windows that let in lots of natural light, Castaway created the perfect backdrop for an elegant day with a unique twist. The space has a way of feeling both expansive and cozy, which made every detail shine in the best way.
The couple leaned into the venue’s modern-industrial look but softened it with textured florals and decor that felt fresh and artistic. Their arrangements featured white lilies and other sculptural, exotic blooms, accented with soft pinks and greens. Instead of traditional centerpieces, tables were styled with a mix of florals and fruit, adding organic shapes, layers, and pops of color that fit beautifully with Castaway’s clean aesthetic. The result was elevated and full of personality.
One of the standout details was the cultural tradition woven throughout the celebration: a Vietnamese lion dance, complete with vibrant red costumes, drums, and high-energy movement. The performance brought so much joy and excitement to the room and added a meaningful touch that honored the couple’s heritage. Later in the evening, the dance floor came alive under a playful disco ball and a cloud of baby's breath florals, one of our favorite unique details that brought a fun, retro vibe to the celebration.
The bridesmaids’ mix of pink, green, yellow, and plum dresses tied everything together, complementing the overall palette without feeling too coordinated. And as the sun set, Castaway’s warm lighting and intimate layout created the perfect atmosphere for dancing, celebrating, and ending the night surrounded by laughter.
Throughout the planning process, the couple chose our signature package, which gave them detailed day-of coordination as the day came together. We helped refine their vision and made sure that every design detail felt cohesive in Castaway’s urban setting.
