Stepping into an event at Blockhouse feels like entering a different world. Tucked away in the Pearl District, this venue serves as a magical oasis amidst the bustle of the city. This August wedding perfectly highlighted the venue’s versatility, offering a flawless mix of modern architecture and an organic, garden-inspired atmosphere.
The flow of this space is one of its most enchanting features. With the chef-inspired kitchen, the outdoor patio, and the Pomarius Orangerie all seamlessly connected, guests are always right in the heart of the party. The ceremony space itself is a true chameleon; bordered by lush greenery, it feels nature-driven yet refined. As guests transition to the bar for cocktails, the team easily converts the ceremony area into the reception hall of your dreams.
For their design, the couple chose a "less is more" approach that emphasized warmth and texture. They layered neutral tones with subtle pops of color, letting the natural greenery of the Orangerie speak for itself during the ceremony. As the evening moved indoors, color was introduced through soft blush linens, a mix of dried and live florals, and a vibrant collection of vintage goblets in shades of amber and emerald.
The reception tables were lined with delicate florals and brass candlesticks, casting a romantic glow across the room. To add a final touch of whimsy, the couple opted for ceiling drapes in the Orangerie. These not only added a soft, airy texture to the design but also helped filter the golden light of the warm August evening, creating a truly ethereal setting for dinner.
