The thing I like most about Your Perfect Bridesmaid is the wonderful opportunity I have to be a part of so many special moments. Despite the stress associated with planning a wedding, the brides I have worked with are so excited to be taking this step in their lives, and their happiness creates an amazing energy that I am blessed to be a part of.

I have lived in Portland now for a little over 4 years. I love the community feel this city has and I take every opportunity to get out there and enjoy it. My favorite things to do in Portland involve my taste buds. I am convinced that our restaurants and vineyards are among the best in the nation. My newest hobby is gardening. I definitely don't have a green thumb, but I haven't killed anything yet, so there is hope.

I am truly thankful to have the opportunity to help brides create one of the most special days of their lives. I always get so excited to see a bride on her wedding day. The anticipation, emotion and excitement are such wonderful things to bear witness to. I can honestly say that after witnessing countless weddings, I still get teary at every single wedding I attend. I really enjoy being a part of such a special occasion.

I moved to the Portland area 10 years ago to attend college at Pacific University in Forest Grove. I loved Oregon so much that I could not bring myself to move back home to Washington. I live in SE with my wonderful husband Craig, our little black pug Mr. Kong and our kitty Sophie Marie. In my free time I enjoy taking the dog for walks, reading and oddly enough, I really enjoy cleaning the house. I really love what I do and I look forward to sharing my passion and skills with you. I look forward to making your wedding dreams a reality.

As a transfer from the East Coast since 1995, I've called Oregon home for the last 14 years. I like to think that I've held on to my East Coast attitude while sincerely embracing West Coast culture. While my college degree was meant to lead me to a career as an elementary school teacher, I've found myself most happy as a jewelry artist and an assistant wedding coordinator for Your Perfect Bridesmaid. I live in Portland with my husband, David, a talented carpenter, and our toddler daughter extraordinaire, Sasha.

I count myself blessed to work with couples on their wedding day and to share in the celebration of their love. I enjoy working to create the unique event each couple couple envisioned for themselves. As an artist and event planner, I understand the balance needed between designing the creative details of a wedding and the tremendous amount of behind-the-scenes effort needed to pull off a wonderful event. My skills, as well as my genuine enthusiasm, work well together to give our clients a beautiful, well executed event. I am looking forward to working with you!

It is such an honor to be part of the biggest day of two peoples' lives. Each wedding I see always brings such joy and happy tears. It is a beautiful thing when two people commit to one another and the promises they make. I love being part of each couple's special day and it is my sincerest desire to help make their wedding day the most memorable day of their lives.

I have lived in Portland for 11 years now and I have lived in Oregon my entire life. Portland is a beautiful city and is such a great place to live. In my spare time I enjoy my beautiful family, my husband Jeremy, our 4 year daughter Emily and our chocolate lab Annabelle. I enjoy every aspect that this city and state has to offer. My personal favorites are the great outdoors and the amazing restaurants. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you on your wedding day.

SERVICES AND RATESEvery couple has a unique set of planning needs, which is why all of our services are listed and priced individually. Why purchase a service you don't need? If life makes it too hard or too stressful to piece together all of those litle details or to find the vendors who will make your wedding complete, leave the research to us. We are experienced at selecting trustworthy, budget conscious, talented folks who will work with us to create the day you have been dreaming of. Allow us to create a customized package for your needs.If you find you need more than one service, we will take 10% off any additional services. WEIYA AND NICKAugust 6, 2011Easily the best decision we made in planning our wedding was to hire Your Perfect Bridesmaid to do our day-of wedding coordination. We received a whole lot more help than we could have ever hoped for (or even realized was needed)! We both worked long hours, right up to our rehearsal dinner, so Melanie was truly pivotal in communicating with our vendors and coordinating last minute decoration and design details. The day of the wedding, Melanie really shined. While our wedding party and family were taking photos and enjoying themselves, Melanie was running around setting up and making everything look absolutely perfect, down to the smallest detail. Once the wedding got started, she made sure everyone stuck to her detailed timeline, but was also incredibly flexible, allowing us to add or change things as the mood struck us. Our only regret is that we didn't hire Your Perfect Bridesmaid to do ALL of our wedding coordination!AMANDA AND DREWJuly 30, 2011It's hard to even find the words for how much I LOVED working with Kim and Melanie. Planning a wedding from New York could be difficult, but with their help I never was worried about anything. Throughout the entire process I knew I could get in touch with them easily and they would be able to answer & help me with any questions. If I wasn't sure about something, they offered several options that worked in the past. I truly felt I had an adovocate when meeting with vendors to make sure that I was getting the best deal. On my wedding day, I was completely calm knowing that all the tasks were being executed beautifully and perfectly by the ladies. It was such a relief to know I didn't have to worry about the cake, DJ, caterer, etc. They really allowed me to enjoy every moment with my family and friends and treasure my day. I still get compliments from people that it was gorgeous and how wonderful Kim & Melanie were. Despite how much work they were busy doing, both of them always took the time to check on me and made me feel very special. Well, let me start from the beginning. My now husband and I knew from the beginning that we wanted day-of coordinators to handle our wedding up at Mt. Hood. We talked to one other company first, who wanted a fortune and was going to give us very little for it. We were definitely discouraged, but then, thankfully, we found Your Perfect Bridesmaid. We had a beautiful, perfect wedding in large part due to the kind and meticulous work of Melanie and Kim from Your Perfect Bridesmaid.My daughter and I completed much of the planning ahead of time but realized that the day of issues needed to be dealt with by someone else. Your Perfect Bridesmaid came highly recommended by one of our vendors. Elizabeth and I met with Melanie and Kim before the wedding and realized then that we had not thought about many of the details that were necessary for a very smooth, flowing event. Kim and Melanie asked us many questions and gave us lists of decisions that we needed to make. We made the decisions, and they executed our plans leaving us free to enjoy the wedding.When glitches occurred the day of the wedding - buses not arriving on time, elevator breaking and leaving over 30 guests stranded on the upper level of the Grotto - it was Melanie and Kim who figured out how to deal with the problems. They did not panic (like I would have) just gracefully examined the situations, came up with solutions and executed them. They were completely proactive in terms of anticipating issues and making things happen. My husband and I felt like guests at the wedding. It was an incredible relief to know that I was not responsible for orchestrating every little detail. These ladies are charming and professional. I highly recommend them.KATIE AND STEPHANIEAugust 29, 2010We were engaged for about a year and a half, and were referred to Your Perfect Bridesmaid pretty early on in our engagement. I (Katie) was originally skeptical that we needed wedding planners for what we were thinking of as a "do-it-yourself" wedding with lots of personal touches and effort on our parts. However, one recently married family member reported to us that the best money she spent was on her wedding planners and that they helped make the day go smoothly. A recently married friend who did not have wedding planners told us that the one thing she wished they had done was hire a planner.Soon enough, I was convinced, especially after meeting with Mel and Kim for the first time! They were professional, organized, friendly and full of ideas for new things and encouragement for what we had already thought of and accomplished. Throughout our entire engagement, they were there for us as sounding boards, full of resources and ideas, and provided (sometimes very-needed) reality checks. The amount of time they gave us was considerably more than they charged for, which was amazing and so appreciated!Mel and Kim worked so hard during our whole wedding day (arriving early and leaving late!) to make sure that everything was set up and ready to go. The result was beautiful - they were thorough and so thoughtful of little details. They played a huge part in making our wedding day one of our happiest days, and we are so thankful for their tireless work and dedication!CHRISSY AND JAKEJune 19, 2010Two bits of advice for the bride-to-be... 1) Get a lot of sleep the night before your wedding, no matter what. Being exhausted on your wedding day is no fun. 2) Hire Kim and Melanie of Your Perfect Bridesmaid. NOW!This is coming from a bride who said "absolutely not" when asked if we were hiring a wedding coordinator. After all, Jake and I were so organized when we put everything together for the wedding. Skip to three weeks before my wedding. I am exhausted. Every night I'm having the same dream, and it's making me restless...I'm at my wedding and the ceremony area looks beautiful. I'm so pleased with myself that all the rentals showed up at the right time with the correct order. The candles, the chairs, the arch painstakingly decorated with flowers; they are all in the correct position, and my guests are in their seats buzzing about how beautiful everything is. I'm in the dressing area and I hear "Here Comes the Bride" begin to play. I look down and suddenly realize that I don't have my wedding dress on. I never had time to do my hair or makeup, and I look like hell. I'm yelling at my mother and MOH to find my veil and shoes and I beg my future sister-in-law to run up the aisle and assure the groom that I'm not leaving him at the alter. I'm just not ready on time because I was putting together all of the beautiful things we had planned...I don't think this dream is unusual. My mother said that she had the same one. After all, as a bride, you spend so much time putting together the details of exactly how you want things to be. It's your day, and you are in control. And then you realize, that as organized as you might be, you are not in control. AT ALL. If you're busy being the bride, getting your makeup and hair done and taking pictures, who is making sure the rentals show up at the right time, that the chairs and seating cards are placed, that the pianist gets the right cue, that leftover decorations get in to the right car at the end of the night...? Family and friends? Aren't they supposed to be in your pictures and having a good time at your reception? Will they be able to put together every detail the way you want it? This is where a bride starts to feel a little overwhelmed and starts to wonder who to give this huge responsibility to.Skip to two weeks before my wedding. I contact wedding coordinators around Portland, including Your Perfect Bridesmaid, for day-of services. I cannot express how lucky I am that Kim and Melanie were still available for my wedding date. Their hourly rate KILLS the competition and their attention to detail is phenomenal. They executed our plans exquisitely, and I was so impressed by their trouble shooting the day of the wedding. People aren't dancing enough? Suddenly, the lights are turned down and the air conditioning is up. Things look like they're winding down? Move up the time of the bouquet toss and get people back on the dance floor. These ladies know what they're doing, and they obviously love it.I stopped having that terrible dream the day I hired Your Perfect Bridesmaid because when I handed them my wedding planning binder, I knew that they were taking it as seriously as I was and that they had my back. From a girl who, up until three weeks before her wedding, said "absolutely not" to hiring a wedding coordinator, I say, you absolutely must. Melanie and Kim are worth your peace of mind and every single penny.
