Old world, European-inspired wedding at Black Walnut Inn - Andrea and Jon

August | Instead of flowers, Andrea and Jon adorned their tables with potted herbs in terracotta and stone and old world silver.
Old world tablescape on long family style tables with potted herbs

Andrea and Jon's wedding was full of emotion - their family fly in from across the country to enjoy the private B&B that is Black Walnut Inn. Though it's nestled in Oregon Wine Country at the top of the valley with views of the rolling valley, it feels like you're transported to the French countryside.

Andrea and Jon wanted their wedding to feel like them (and every guest who walked in would agree it did). For their wedding design, we started with a few points of inspiration, but it was a joy being trusted to curate all the details in between. They wanted to bring in parts of their shared Turkish culture, as well as inspiration from the old world charm of European cities. From the get go, they were also in love with the romantic blue floral plates, reminding them of the common Greek pattern. Andrea and Jon also weren't particularly drawn to flowers.

Taking all this into consideration, we helped them curate a personal design that incorporated all their designs and played to the features of the venue.

Ceremony at Black Walnut Inn

Their ceremony featured Persian and Turkish rugs and pillars adorned bountiful urns and baskets overflowing with herbs, flowers, fruits and olive branches. Their invitation suite, designed by Blake Design Studio  also featured a custom border, inspired by the venue's vineyard view and the blue floral plates they loved so much.

Reception Around The Courtyard Fountain

Their tablescape was a favorite of ours. Instead of flowers, Rachael Meader Floral designed a runner of potted herbs (which Andrea and Jon took home to plant in their garden) in stone and terracotta pots for an old world feel. We utilized silver flatware and candelabras for that classic old world look. And to bring it all together, their table numbers and place cards added a sophisticated pop of color and tied in the beloved blue floral plates.
