A Magical Forest-Forward Wedding at Camp Colton - Casey and Eric

August | This August wedding at Camp Colton combined "forest whimsy" with refined, organic details like blackberry-accented decor. Hosted on Molalla and Kalapuya lands, the day was a beautiful, stress-free celebration managed by the YPB team.

Located just an hour south of Portland on the traditional lands of the Molalla and Kalapuya people, Camp Colton has a way of feeling instantly nostalgic. It truly is a spectacular setting for a wedding. On this sunny August day, the venue was in top form. A soft breeze and a canopy of towering trees created a perfectly shaded backdrop for a celebration that was as much about the landscape as it was about the couple.


One of our favorite things about Camp Colton is the way it invites guests to fully immerse themselves in the environment. The ceremony was held in a quiet, shaded grove with amphitheater seating that felt both grand and intimate. Following the vows, everyone moved to the gathering hall patio where the atmosphere was bright and full of energy. Between the historic architecture and the nearby waterfalls, the entire day felt like a beautiful, cohesive journey through the woods.


The design was a stunning tribute to the Pacific Northwest. Instead of competing with the greenery, the couple let the forest lead the way. Their palette of deep yellows, oranges, and soft blushes felt like a transition into late summer. We were especially obsessed with the florals. Thick ferns and dried pampas were styled to look like they were growing right out of the earth. Even the cake featured trailing blackberry vines that looked freshly picked. These intentional, organic touches gave the day so much life and personality.


To bring this vision to life, the couple chose our Premiere Package. This allowed our team to dive deep into the design process with them through collaborative sessions and custom visuals. From the initial walkthrough to the final coordination, we handled the behind-the-scenes logistics so the couple could simply stay present.


This wedding was such a joyful reflection of the couple and the magic of the venue. It was playful, respectful, and entirely unique. Camp Colton continues to be a favorite spot for us to celebrate love, and this day was a perfect example of why.
